Our story:
Michigan Bollard is dedicated to making steel bollards and machine guards to be used in industrial, manufacturing and commercial spaces. Wilbert Williams, the founder of Michigan Bollard, started making parts for the Automotive industry in 2001. With his 20 years of experience in CNC tube bending and fabrication, he made an average of over 22 million parts/year for the Domestic Big 3 and all Japanese transplants. In addition to this, he purchased many bollards and machine guards to protect his machinery and equipment for his three manufacturing facilities.
The concept behind Michigan Bollard is simple. If we can make highly complex parts for vehicles ranging from BMW's, Cadillac Escalades, Ford F150's, and Honda Accords, then making bollards and machine guards that are less complex should be a seamless process.

Bollards
All of our bollards are fabricated from US made steel in our Livonia, Michigan facility. For the bollard, the base plate and tube are fabricated on our new 2KW state of the art hybrid fiber laser. After both parts are cut, they are robotically welded and then powder coated in safety yellow.
Bollards tubes are made from 41/2" diameter X 1/8" wall (11 gage) Mechanical tubing. Bollard plates are made from 1/4" thick, hot rolled sheets.
Machine Guards
All of our machine guards are fabricated from US made steel in our Livonia, Michigan facility. For the machine guard, the tube and base plates are cut on the fiber laser. The tube is then bent in our CNC Tube Bender. After this, the base plates are robotically welded to the bent tube and then powder coated in safety yellow.
Machine guards are made from 41/2" diameter X 1/8" wall (11 gauge) mechanical tubing. The base plates are made from 1/4" thick, hot rolled material.

If you have a need for a custom-made product that uses a 4 1/2" diameter tube, just give us a call and one of our experienced staff members will assist you. Lead times for custom products are longer than standard inventoried product. If a print is available for the custom made part, it might accelerate the fabrication and delivery process.
